With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #256
I sound like a broken record. No new books.
Sunday Post #213
The past week was filled with raw emotions. The good news, my stepmom is all cleared and can drive her car again. What a relief. She isn´t happy with the situation but at least she can again decide how things should work. My dad´s still at the clinic. His dementia has taken again a turn for the worse and we know now that they give him each evening a sleeping pill and during the day tranquilizers. Something my dad never wanted. I had a long phone call with my stepmom, and we agreed to do a few things together. It feels strange that I have to think about my dad´s future funeral and where he will be laid to rest while he is still alive. But it was good for me to hear what my stepmom thinks about it.
The prizes for fruits and veggies, among others, have gone up again. Inflation has gone down. Ok. Can you tell me where? Because I don´t see it.
On the blogger front, I am still reading Gallant and I am absolutely thrilled. I am halfway through and hope I can finish it today or tomorrow. I had planned to email some publishers for some requested and approved books which haven´t arrived but the days go by in a blink. I cleaned my bathroom Saturday and darkened the roof window there with silver foil. Let´s see if it works.
The garden is in full bloom, and I enjoy it every day while sitting on the balcony or looking out the bedroom window. Although I haven´t worked in the garden for the past week. It is too hot during the day and in the evening, I am busy coming to terms with what´s happened during the day.
And how was your week?
Happy reading
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteIt's been hot here too, almost too hot to work outside.
Thank you, Greg.
DeleteI too am enjoying my garden with lots blooming. I want to read Gallant but haven't gotten to it yet. My mother has dementia now and doesn't remember who people are. She wants to go "home" or home with us but is beyond what we can care for her. She isn't mean or violent just confused and bewildered at times. My great aunt lived for many years in a home like that and died at 104. It's sad. She says she has nothing to do. She does go to music programs and other events but doesn't remember them. Food prices are one of the things that has gone up and not back down so much. Eggs though are even below what they cost before the big increases.
