With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #255
I´m starting to sound like a broken record. No new books.
Sunday Post #212
The past week has been incredibly hard. I tried to help my stepmom as best as I could, but it was never enough. At least not in her opinion. And I totally understand it. She is a sobbing mess, no matter what day or time I call her or she calls me. And I can´t blame her.
Tuesday and Wednesday I was finally able to write some new blog content and to start a new book. Gallant by V.E. Schwab. The garden looks like a wild area with all the flowers and plants blooming and growing. The lilac is covered with dead blossoms, but I don´t find the energy to cut them out.
I can´t even enjoy the peonies which are in full bloom. The rest of the week I tried to get at least some sort of daily routine in my daily routine. Thursday we were finally allowed to visit my dad. It was a shock. I don´t remember what I did Friday. And Saturday, I was busy mowing the lawn at midday in bright sunshine. Yes, stupid, I know. It took me three hours to cut most of the wild grass with my garden scissor and the rest with the mower a neighbor lent me. After that, I was completely exhausted and had to rest for a bit before I went to the supermarket for some food. After all, it is the long Pentecost weekend. The sun is shining bright and warm all day and it will stay that way for the next week. At least that´s what the weather forecast keeps telling me. I had planned to bake a cake Saturday evening but ended up packing all the ingredients away again. No energy.
Today, Sunday, the same picture. My stepmom woke me up with her call around nine. After that phone call, I couldn´t go back to sleep and spent the day writing, calling the clinic, and trying to get the new information to my stepmom. No chance. I fear we will see another drama tomorrow when she wants to visit him again. Ah well …
And how was your week?
Happy reading
I hope this week gets a bit more routine and goes more smoothly. Take what moments you can for yourself and enjoy your flowers or books. I want to read Gallant.
