With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #190
The week started with checking the new fall/ winter book programs various publishers have now online. Within no time I had a long list of book wishes and so it was necessary for me to cut it down a bit.
On Tuesday I went into the garden and started cutting some plants back and getting everything ready for winter. We had such great weather. Sun, blue skies, and chilly air. It was gorgeous. And while I was on it, I also cut back the Christmas tree branches. That way I got enough material to cover the roses and my rosemary, and I hope that both will survive the winter. The other positive result, I no longer need to watch my head while working around the tree. And no, that tree will not become our next Christmas tree. It is simply too huge *smile*
The next day, Wednesday, I was home early and literally went to bed with the chickens. I was so tired! No idea where that came from, but I slept until 5am on Thursday morning. And with the freezing temperatures outside, I snuggled up in bed with a warm blanket around my feet and my current read in my hands. Only a few pages left, and I am done with the book.
I got finally a new chef timer, hardcover, for 2023. It was quite a challenge to find one without having to pay a fortune for it.
Friday was the day when the carnival started. The fifth season, as we like to call it around here. And I had a nice book surprise in my mailbox. Woohoo!
On Saturday morning I went to the supermarket to get some fruits and veggies that had been on sale. I love steamed broccoli which is still slightly crunchy, rosemary potatoes, and wonderfully bright orange persimmons. Later in the evening, I watched a game show called: Because they don´t know what´s happening. The show was fun and long.
My Sunday routine is still the same. I slept long, enjoyed the bright sunshine, and read a few chapters. I wrote some new reviews, took care of my household, and baked a chocolate cake. I am so into having something baked to eat while enjoying a cup of espresso, that a freshly baked cake was in order…
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.
Happy reading
I should check out online catalogs- that's something I rarely do. And I love crisp weather like that in the fall. Sunny but cool. :)
ReplyDeleteYour cake sounds great!
A good week Vi! I like to bake sometimes too. We aren't quite as cold as where you are but it's cooling down and we might freeze at night this week. That will be the end of some of my fall plantings. But the broccoli and herbs other than basil will be fine.

Yum cake. Your week sounds busy. I confess I hit the pillow early a few nights. Hope this week is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI hope that long sleep was good for you? I think we want to sleep more as it gets colder - hibernate like bears or hedgehogs!
