With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #204

And again. No new books this week.

Sunday Post #161

I started the week with a walk to the supermarket. Since midnight all Covid rules, like wearing a mask, social distancing or meeting others are not existing anymore. Which feels weird. Now I am the one people look at because I am still wearing a mask. But I don´t care. It is my health. Sadly, I only got a few items I wanted. The rest of my list is still not available. Ah well… Later, in the afternoon, I did some work in the garden. For almost three hours I took out the moss and ivy that´s covering an entire flower bed.

On Tuesday I went to the supermarket again. And again, no luck. No sunflower oil or cornflakes. Well… But I found something else. Do you know the animal Nutria? I saw one Tuesday afternoon for the very first time at all. The weather was grey and clouded, so I couldn´t take a good picture.

Wednesday, we had a mix of sun and clouds. I walked to the supermarket for a third time and this time I was lucky to get a box of the sort of cornflakes I wanted. The rest of my list wasn´t available and so I changed my eating plan for the week again. But I was able to take a picture of the Nutria this time.

The next day, Thursday, I extended some library books. It was such bad weather outside, cold, and rainy, that I had no intention to walk into town.

During the night from Friday to Saturday, it started to snow. When I woke up in the middle of the night, everything was covered with snow. Only a few hours later, the snow was gone, and bright sunshine and a blue sky were to see. The crows are still making noise and I went into the garden and planted the first flower bed. Took an hour to prepare the soil before sowing the seed. Now, I am curious to see which of the flowers will start growing and later bloom.

Today, Sunday, I slept long and had what I call a lazy day. I did literally nothing. In the late afternoon, I watered the newly planted flower bed. I am completely off my old rhythm. Not sure if that is still the hour of sleep the summertime has cost me, the mixed weather or something else. Well, hopefully it will go away soon. Don´t like it very much.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. That's an interesting little critter! I like your pics. And I hear you on the Covid rules. Hardly anyone around here wears a mask anymore and it's so weird. I mean, the virus is still here? Anyway, we've had mixed weather here too. Hope you are having a nice weekend :):)

    1. That little critter was quite famous for a few days. It is still weird with almost no Covid rules in place anymore and I understand those, who choose to not wear a mask. I think, it is good that people are asked now to show some individual responsibility.

  2. It has been a miserable April here too. But a lot of wind. Any bit of moisture has somehow dried up so fast. Glad you got the snow. I hope you get back to your rhythm soon. I myself likes to get up before dawn, but not this morning. All the best to your reads and creativity.

  3. How frustrating not to be able to get everything you need at the supermarket. I understand being the only one still wearing a mask. Our rules have been lax for quite a long time now and I still wear a mask in public. Just this week I did run into a few places without it. I had to wear one all day recently and now when I wear it for longer than an hour I really struggle with breathing. It's crazy. I hope you have a good week!

    1. Supply chains are disrupted and traders are not getting the quantity of goods they ordered. Due to the pandemic and the war in the east of Europe. It's currently like that everywhere in Germany. If I would have to wear a mask for hours during a day, I would do the same thing you did recently, Cindy. Have a great week.

  4. Sorry your stores haven't had what you wanted. Sounds like you got lots of walking in, however. That's good.
