With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #190

No new books.

Sunday Post #147

The past week was again, mostly a quiet one when I look at my private life. The Nikolaus Day on Monday went by in a blink, and Tuesday and Wednesday were all bound together in a historical moment when Germany got a new chancellor and government after sixteen years with chancellor Angela Merkel at the top of the country. I watched the live coverage almost all day, and it already becomes visible, that the new government will handle things differently. Not in a bad way but to see how our new foreign minister speaks boyishly with her foreign counterparts and how she always nods her head in greeting and so vigorously that she looks like a bobble dog does not go down well with me. My dentist appointment for a quick check-up went well, and yesterday I had some phone calls with my stepmom and my dad. His birthday is next Sunday, and she needs some rapid tests for that day to make sure that they and every guest that will show up for a cup of coffee, can get tested if necessary. So far it isn´t even clear if I can celebrate with them at all. Well …

The rest of the weekend I wasn´t doing much. I read a few more chapters, wrote some blog posts, visited some other blogs, and tried to get out of the weird emotional status I am apparently in. All the new information about Omicron is worrying me very much and with the festive days coming up I am not sure if I´ll rather stay at home for Christmas or go and enjoy some time with my dad. Ah well …

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I hope you stay safe and well. It is difficult to know what to do but we take all the precautions. I'm kind of sand to see Angela Merkel go. Enjoy your books!

  2. Oh I hope you get to see your dad and stepmom. Best wishes to your dad for a happy birthday! And it really is the end of an era in Germany with Merkel gone now, huh? I'll miss her a bit too probably... :)

I've had the same thoughts about Omicron. Things are so bad here, hospitals overflowing... it does make one wonder.

  3. My husband’s birthday is next week too. We were talking about going out to dinner with family and friends but I think we are just going to get it delivered instead. I hope you are able to celebrate with your dad.

Wishing you a great reading week
