With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #155

I Won A Place In A Reading Round
Sunday Post #112
It was a great feeling to see the election results coming in last Sunday and to see that the party I had voted for, is on top again and that our current prime minister has been re-elected again. Good feeling.
On Monday I got some more Spring flowers. A gorgeous smelling French lavender and some daffodils and discovered that towards the weekend my supermarket will have willow catkin on sale. *fingers crossed* that I will get one.
Tuesday, I had a phone call to take in the morning. It is awful when the person on the other end of the line sounds like a tired thing that is not interested in what you are saying at all. And that person is supposed to give me some advice? What an unnecessary waste of my time. Ugh!
That day I also had some troubles with Blogger. Again. It is so annoying when you have to re-edit an already finished and published post only because you discover that blogger again screwed it up. I had to try it three times before the post looked the way it was supposed to look. After that, I was kind of done with my share of editing new posts. But then I thought I check a reading forum where I had applied for a reading round with some others. And yay, I won! What a great feeling to read that I will have the novel in my mailbox within the next few days.
Wednesday morning, I had the spontaneous idea to book myself a library appointment. It is annoying but apparently, the only legal way for our library to allow people in. Last year they handled the entrance via a certain number of baskets piled up at the bottom of the stairs and we all knew the rules. I liked that way of handling the situation way better than the booking system they are using now. But I am glad that the library is open at all with the lockdown still going on and the stricter rules we´re having. So, I got myself a thirty-minute-long appointment and went an hour after booking it to visit my new library for the very first time since they had moved in. To be honest, I am still shocked about the design and the atmosphere. And I am not happy at all about the new look or the new staff that is running it now. The good thing so far for me is, that they extended the opening hours. Another good thing for me was that the lady behind the counter replaced my old library card (was a card with a barcode) for free and within minutes with the new library card (has a chip now). Good, I am not happy at all that I now have to get used to a new library-number, but I understand that the new system requires the chip. I talked with Mrs. B (thank God one-half of the old library team is still working there) about it and she took the time to explain to me the reasons behind all the new things.
On Friday I had two books in the mail, you can see above, and with the beautiful weather forecast for Saturday in mind, I went to get myself some more plants.
Saturday I finally started to dig out some spring flowers from the front yard (daffodils, tulips, grape hyacinths, and some lily of the valley) and replanted them in the back yard. I know it is the wrong time to do that, but with a little trick from my side it will hopefully work, and they will bloom during the next few weeks. I totally forgot to take some pictures of my work while the sun was shining Saturday but next week, we will again get some sunny days and then I take some and show you.
Well, today is Sunday, as we all know *smile* and the weather is all grey. I slept long, after a very uneasy night and worked my way through some emails, wrote my schedule for the next week, and finished this post. Hopefully, I will be able to do some blog visits later. It's already five o'clock in the evening and I seriously wonder where the day has gone.
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.
Happy reading
I’m sorry you are so unhappy about the changes at your library, hopefully at least the covid measures won’t be needed much longer if the vaccine rollout.
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to seeing pictures of your planting.
Wishing you a great reading week, enjoy your new books!
I am sorry about the new library design too. Well ... Thank you for your visit.
DeleteI am so happy that they elected the ones you wanted! And yay for going to the libarry!
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a wonderful result *smile*
DeleteIt's always great to start the spring season on a positive note. Good luck with your gardening! I'm glad you had a good, productive week.
ReplyDeleteI guess, without the yard work I wouldn´t be sane anymore *lol*
DeleteI've had issues with Blogger too. I've sort of gotten used to them but they've been ongoing since the changes they made- previews don't load right, long waiting times, margins and spacing all messed up. Ugh. Glad you got to hit the library although that's a bummer not all the changes are good...
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to get outside when the weather's nice. :)
It just feels great lifting your face towards the sun. Didn´t realize how much I´ve missed that.
DeleteSuch a busy week! I love hearing about the spring plants and improving weather. I'm glad the election results are what you wanted. Good luck with the new library card.
