is a weekly event that was originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. There are a lot of new books coming out each year and some of them catch my attention and will get a spotlight in my Waiting on Wednesday post. While some of them will finally end up here at my place, others won´t. I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.
Okay, the vampire thing as a plot is not new and in some ways kind of sucked dry. But with Jay Kristoff´s name on it and the fact that I know his Mia books, I think this one could be different. Jay Kristoff is known for the unexpected and that he does not believe in happy endings, so romance is part of his books but not in an obvious way – and that´s what I love about his stories. And this one promises some evil, blood, and a plot that is like no other. Not to mention the fact, that this will be published a few days before my birthday. Yep, I think this could become the perfect birthday gift to myself. So, yes, this one gets a place on my Waiting On Wednesday post list.

It has been twenty-seven long years since the last sunrise. For nearly three decades, vampires have waged war against humanity; building their eternal empire even as they tear down our own. Now, only a few tiny sparks of light endure in a sea of darkness. Gabriel de León is a silversaint: a member of a holy brotherhood dedicated to defending realm and church from the creatures of the night. But even the Silver Order couldn’t stem the tide once daylight failed us, and now, only Gabriel remains. Imprisoned by the very monsters he vowed to destroy, the last silversaint is forced to tell his story. A story of legendary battles and forbidden love, of faith lost, and friendships won, of the Wars of the Blood and the Forever King and the quest for humanity’s last remaining hope: The Holy Grail.

I'm a September baby too, although earlier in the month. :-) I haven't read anything by Kristoff even though I am pretty sure I own a couple of his books. I don't read a lot of vampire books anymore, but occasionally one will catch my fancy. I will have to check this one out when it is released. I hope you love it when you read it! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely read his Nevernight Chronicles. Mia is a badass heroine I admired very much. I hope too, that I will enjoy it.
DeleteI've only read the series he co-write with another writer, but need to give his other stuff a try. Hope you get this one soon and enjoy it!
