Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week the theme is all about books on my spring TBR.

I created this TTT post kind of last minute. Nonetheless, the books presented here are some I want to read and hopefully can do so during spring 2021. But I won´t promise anything. I post them, as always, in random order and mix audiobooks, ebooks, and printed editions.

Hideaway by Nora Roberts

Caitlyn Sullivan, a daughter of Hollywood royalty, was already a star at ten, but still loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Despite her glamorous background, Cate was a shrewd, scrappy survivor, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bruised and terrified girl huddled in his ranch house kitchen-but when the teenager and his family heard her story, they provided refuge and comfort, reuniting her with her loved ones. Cate’s ordeal, though, was far from over. First came the discovery of a betrayal that would send someone she’d trusted to prison. Then there were years away in Ireland, sheltered and protected but with restlessness growing in her soul. Then, finally, she returned to Los Angeles, hoping to act again and get past the trauma that had derailed her life. What she didn’t yet know was that two seeds had been planted that long-ago night-one of a great love, and one of a terrible vengeance…

Crescent City-House Of Earth And Blood by Sarah J. Maas

Half-Fae, half-human Bryce Quinlan loves her life. By day, she works for an antiquities dealer, selling barely legal magical artifacts, and by night, she parties with her friends, savoring every pleasure Lunathion - otherwise known as Crescent City – has to offer. But it all comes crumbling down when a ruthless murder shakes the very foundations of the city – and Bryce´s world. Two years later, her job has become a dead end, and she now seeks only blissful oblivion in the city´s most notorious nightclubs. But when the murderer attacks again, Bryce finds herself dragged into the investigation and paired with an infamous Fallen angel whose own brutal past haunts his every step. Hunt Athalar, personal assassin for the Archangels, wants nothing to do with Bryce Quinlan, despite being ordered to protect her. She stands for everything he once rebelled against and seems more interested in partying than solving the murder, no matter how close to home it might hit. But Hunt soon realizes there´s far more to Bryce than meets the eye – and that he´s going to have to find a way to work with her if they want to solve this case. As Bryce and Hunt race to untangle the mystery, they have no way of knowing the threads they tug ripple through the underbelly of the city, across warring continents, and down to the darkest levels of Hel, where things that have been sleeping for millennia are beginning to stir …

Searching Lucy by Christina Stein

It´s been weeks since Amber´s twin sister Lucy disappeared. Just because. On a full moon night. On Halloween. Exactly a month after Amber´s father. No suspects, no ransom note, not a single lead. Amber knows the chances that they are still alive decrease every day. Anyone around you could be the culprit. And she will find him – even if she has to go into every single basement to look for them.

Blacklist by Geneva Lee

Adair MacLaine was sunshine and the storm. Emerald-green eyes and attitude, I fell for her the moment we met and hated her just as quickly. Five years ago, tragedy brought her to my door and sparked a love that consumed us like wildfire-hot, unpredictable, and impossible to control. We raged together until her father made her choose between me and the family name. I left. She stayed. I’m no longer the poor kid that lost her. I’ve made myself into a man that won’t be ignored. Now her father is dead, the MacLaine empire is crumbling, and Adair’s inheritance depends on the company’s largest investor: me. My whole life changed the night I met Sterling Ford. Brilliant and intense, he came to Valmont with nothing but a scholarship and a chip on his shoulder. He was a grenade and I wanted to pull the pin. We were doomed from the first kiss. I’ve waited for my chance to seize my freedom and now it's finally in reach-until the last person I ever wanted to see again walks into my father’s funeral: him.

The Rehearsal Dinner by J. R. Ward

It's a classic recipe for disaster: Take one bridesmaid who thinks pink is the root of all evil. Mix with a best man who's hotter than a four-alarm fire. Add in their explosive sexual attraction, a nightmare bridezilla, two catfights, and an emergency call, and you have the wedding from hell! Experience the sizzling start of Anne and Danny's intense relationship. Is this the start of something good...or just an erotic one-night stand that rocks their world, but must never be repeated? Only their hearts know the answer to that, much as their minds might disagree.

The Reception by J. R. Ward

As the wedding from hell continues, Anne and Danny find themselves walking the delicate balance between professional distance and explosive attraction. Will the desire they feel last through the night and change their lives? Or are they doomed to part after one night of passion?

Consumed by J. R. Ward

Anne Ashburn is a woman consumed - By her bitter family legacy, by her scorched career as a firefighter, by her obsession with department bad-boy Danny McGuire, and by a new case that pits her against a fiery killer. Strong-willed Anne was fearless and loved the thrill of fighting fires, pushing herself to be the best. But when one risky decision at a warehouse fire changes her life forever, Anne must reinvent not only her job but her whole self. Shattered and demoralized, Anne finds her new career as an arson investigator a pale substitute for the adrenaline-fueled life she left behind. She doesn't believe she will ever feel that same all-consuming passion for her job again--until she encounters a string of suspicious fires setting her beloved city ablaze. Danny McGuire is a premiere fireman, the best in the county, but in the midst of a personal meltdown. Danny is taking risks like never before and seems to have a death wish until he teams up with Anne to find the fire starter. But Danny may be more than a distraction, and as Anne narrows in on her target, the arsonist begins to target her.

All My Loving by Marie Force

Landon Abbott and his identical twin brother, Lucas, always shared everything-until they laid eyes on Amanda Pressley and both wanted something only one of them could have. All it took was her pretty little mouth uttering the words “prostate massager” during a sales pitch at his family’s Green Mountain Country Store in Butler, Vermont, to make Landon’s heart stop and other parts of him jump to attention. Unfortunately, his brother felt the same-or at least he did. Now Lucas is head over heels for Dani and her daughter Savannah, and the path is clear for Landon and Amanda. Except that even with her staying with him, nothing is happening, and Landon isn’t sure how to change the status quo. Amanda is making a list and checking it twice. Nearly dying in the fire at the Admiral Butler Inn has left her with tons of regret and a new lust for life. Topping the list of things, she wants to do with her second chance are two key items-fall in love and have an orgasm with a man. The last person she expects to check all her boxes is the world-renowned player named Landon Abbott. She might've made the mistake of saying yes to dates with both brothers once upon a time, but only one of them makes her heart pound. Too bad she can’t figure out how to move off the starting line toward something more than friendship with the ridiculously handsome firefighter. When she needed a place to stay after the fire, Landon was first in line to offer his home, and now that she’s sleeping in his bed, he’s determined to show Amanda only one Abbott brother is capable of helping her achieve her goals. Things are heating up in Butler this spring as Landon and Amanda find just what they’ve been missing on the road to happily ever after. But like mud season in Vermont, that road is full of potholes as a long-buried secret from Amanda’s past and Landon’s plethora of female admirers threaten their newfound happiness.

A Court Of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she has struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she cannot seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper is not the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other. Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.

  7. I loved Crescent City and the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I felt like A court of silver flames was geared more towards those who like SJM’s ACOTAR even though it was sort of marketed as a stand alone. I did enjoy seeing Nesta fleshed out though

    1. I was curious about Nesta´s story from the moment on when I read the scenes with her in A Court Of Frost and Starlight. So I guess, you are right, that you need to be a fan of this series.

    1. O I hope that too. At the moment I am torn between buying the English editions or waiting until the German editions are published later this year.
