With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #151
I had a surprise book in the mail this week. Thank you Fischer Sauerländer. You made my day on Thursday. And I bought a book. It was on sale and I need some fun and entertaining stuff nowadays.

Sunday Post #108
I fear I might sound like a broken record. But the past week was again, a quiet one. We´ve got a lot of snow, nights have become freezing cold and it was not always fun to go outside for a walk or to do some grocery shopping. I went to the new library building, to bring back some books and to pick up another one. And again, I am not happy with the new look our library is now showing.
The rest of the week was a mixture of waiting for the results while our government and ministers were holding their video conference, watching the impeachment trial for the former 45th (a complete joke if you ask me), and trying to do some reading, blogging, and writing reviews.
As you might have noticed. It was very quiet on the blogging front here. I am in a reading and blogging slump. I am not sure why that is exactly, but I guess that I am simply too overwhelmed with all the new information I have to deal with. During the past week, I tried to go outside either for a walk or run to get me some fresh air at least once a day. Our nightly curfew got removed by a judge, but our local government is already looking for a way to get it into law again because the numbers show that we made huge progress with it. And the fear that the new variant might get us again into high infection numbers is huge around here. I am not ok with all the new restrictions, but I am also not ok with the way how all those behave who still think that Covid is just a hoax.
Today is Valentine´s Day. But I am not sure if everyone is celebrating it the way we´re used to. In most states, flower shops are closed due to the pandemic. And in my state, they can only offer a call and collect service. But our supermarket can sell flowers like there is no tomorrow and so on Saturday I had to find my way through a crowd of people who were looking for the right bouquet. It was insane. I don´t know about you but wherever you are I hope you can celebrate and enjoy this day at least a bit.
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.
Happy reading
The COVID variants are pretty scary. The original was so contagious as it was. I don't have much to say except ((HUGS)) and try to take care of yourself. I hope you enjoy Aurora Rising. I thought it was great. I cried at the end.
ReplyDeleteAaah, guess that means for me that I will need some tissues at hand before I really start reading it. Thanks for the info *smile*
DeleteIt's very quiet in my life too ! And I shied away from the news this week!
ReplyDeleteI can´t wait that summer is here and I will be able to get my two jabs...
DeleteBummer you don't like the new library. I rarely go anymore since I use Libby and borrow digital. I watched the Impeachment even though I knew the GOP would ignore the facts and vote for Trump. At least it is all on record for historians.
ReplyDeleteThat was the only thing that made this joke worth watching: That historians will have it on record for the future. I was shocked when I saw the new rooms for the first time. I mean, modern is good and new technical stuff is necessary and a good thing, if you do it right. But else? brrrr...

ReplyDeleteI have no doubt the constant uncertainty around the pandemic is emotionally draining and affecting your enthusiasm for blogging and reading. Maybe reading Aurora Rising will help pull you out of your funk.
Wishing you a great reading week
I hope that too. Hopefully that slump won´t last long.
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day! We aren't doing anything traditional, no flowers or candy or cards. We are lazy and really our Christmas tree is still up because of my back/leg pain. I wish people would be more careful and responsible about COVID but they aren't so we have to be super vigilant. Have a good week Vi!

Ah, that explains why your tree was still up *smile* Oh yes, if your back isn´t pain free it makes no sense to take the tree out. I wish, too, that people would show more responsibility in handling the virus situation. Happy reading.
DeleteI didn't watch the impeachment trial. It's too depressing since we all already knew the outcome going in. I just watched highlights after the fact.

I was curious if some would show some spine. Ah well ... sad, but that´s reality.
DeleteIt is crazy right now. I hope you are well and stay safe there. It's been super cold here too... brr!
ReplyDeleteAfter one week with crazy cold weather, we are having now warm and very sunny weather. Happy reading.
DeleteWe've had a bit of snow here too. It's been nice to play in but I'm glad it's starting to get a little warmer now.
ReplyDeleteI think quite a few people are having blogging slumps lately. I had mine last year and am now starting to get back into it again. I think it's quite normal not to have the energy for writing and reading when there is so much going on in the world. It's just exhausting trying to process everything. I feel the same as you about not liking the restrictions but also annoyed at people who behave recklessly. I hope you are getting plenty of rest and being kind to yourself.
Aurora Rising is on my wishlist. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for your kind words. It is good to see that so many others feel the same way. Very comforting and soothing.
