With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #129
I bought a 99-cent book. The first in weeks.
Sunday Post #86
Yesterday, Saturday, I had for the first time in over ten years the feeling that I don´t feel comfortable in this apartment building anymore. Last weekend a new neighbor had moved in with his wife and two sons and with that came a huge amount of trouble and anger. I don´t wanna bother you with details, but it is far from being pleasant.
One of my neighbors is a nice lady who lives with her husband in the basement apartment. They are my age and love tattoos and dark clothes. And holy heck they both have some great tattoos I could see during the summer weeks when we all were wearing t-shirts and tops. That was some artwork they have on their skin, wow, just wow. She is the one who painted all the stones (see pictures) and takes care of the garden right outside her windows.
Thursday evening, I discovered some new ones and took the pictures. The style is naïve, but the motives and color combinations are so beautiful, that I asked her if I can take some pictures and share them online. And when you imagine that kids run through that without any second thought – Ugh! The worst of all, we have boy twins living in the house for almost a year now. They never climbed the clothesline rack or left the main door open when they went inside for the night. They do now with the new neighbor kid as a company. Yep, with the new neighbor’s son arrived a real snotty-nosed brat.

The wasps’ nest in our attic is still hanging. Had no time or energy to take care of that too with all the other bad stuff going on. Anger with my landlord, anger with some of the neighbors because rules are only for the stupid Germans to obey but not for the rest of the world, and some other anger. Believe me, I am fed up! Let´s hope that the new week will be a better one.
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.
Happy reading

Sorry you have to deal with new neighbours that are not ideal, Vi! that must be taking some energy you don't have to spare.
ReplyDeleteI hope next week will be better :)
Happy reading.
It does, indeed. But I am not willing to let them win *smile* Thank you for stopping by, Linda.
DeleteSorry to hear you are experiencing so much stress. I hope some or all of the issues get resolved in some way. I was just reading the synopsis for The Book Charmer and it sounds wonderful! I hope you enjoy it when you read it.
ReplyDeleteI hope it too. Yep, some neighbors are ... well ... weird *lol*
DeleteVi I am sorry you don't feel safe in your appartment anymore! I hope things will be better soon!
ReplyDeleteIt is a strange feeling for sure. But I am not willing to let them win. It is not me who makes the rules in this house. It is our landlord and the law in this state. Anyway. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear about the new neighbors. That sounds awful. And frustrating too when people think rules don't apply to them! I hope that situation works out.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be crazy about the wasp situation either. Hopefully that also resolves for you soon with the cooler weather coming on. That's one good thing about fall and cooler weather haha- some of the critters/ bugs go away. :)
Have a good week ahead. :)
The nest is already empty. I only need to find some time to take it down. Right now I could do ten things at once but only have two hands *lol*
DeleteI hope you have an improved week! The weather here has turned gorgeous, really perfect for this long weekend.
ReplyDeleteBut I had my computer tied up for over 4 hours yesterday so I am late to the visiting! At least I could read while I waited but it was frustrating because I had so much I wanted to do on the computer. Enjoy some great books and escape to a new world.
Anne - Books of my Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Oh I know that situation too. Whenever I need to do something quick on my laptop, there is for sure a new update that gets downloaded in the background and installed the moment I turn my device on. I hope you had a wonderful long weekend and some fun. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteThose stones are so lovely and colourful, just down the street from me there is a whole big line of them, I’m pretty sure there is a Jaws stone!
ReplyDeleteThat’s a shame about your new neighbours, I hope they don’t cause you too much trouble.
Other people throw them away, my lady neighbor collects them and paints on it. Keeps her sane during these times. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteI love that title, The Book Charmer. I hope it will be as good as it sounds!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely painted rocks! Every now and then I find one at the park or on a walk. I don't know if it is still a thing, but a couple of years ago it was all the rage to leave painted rocks in the wild and when found, the finder could post a photo of the rock on a website and then leave the rock somewhere again to be found--the goal being the sender could see how far the painted rock traveled. We tried our hand at that, but my daughter never wanted to let go of her painted rocks.
I am sorry to hear about your neighbor troubles. I hope the situation gets better in time.
Take care of yourself and enjoy your week!
That is a lovely story about the rock that travels. I can understand your daughter. I have the same situation with some of my paintings *smile* Thank you for stopping by.
