With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #126

Sunday Post #83
The good news first. No cancer. After two and a half weeks of waiting, I know now that the tests were all negative. Phew! The bad thing is still, that the myoma has grown significantly within the last eighteen months. The next twelve months will tell if the change in my nutrition plan can solve that or not *fingers crossed*
I used the past week to watch the Perseids shower that was visible during the nights. What a view! Good, I had to put down the sun protection foil I had covered my roof windows with – and which make quite a difference because the apartment is much cooler with it. But it was worth it.
My dad and stepmom came over yesterday for a quick visit to help me with something and it was great to see them in person again after all those months´. The last time I´ve seen them live and in person had been on Christmas afternoon, on the 24th December 2019. So, yay! Being on the phone and talking to a person is a wonderful thing, especially during a Pandemic. But in person is simply the best. A few hours earlier we had been on the phone together and there I heard for the first time, that they avoid going anywhere, except for visiting family, and mostly stay at home because they don´t wanna catch the virus. It finally got into their heads – what a relief. Ok, it is also due to the heat we have during the day that makes them stay at home, but still. It is good to know that I don´t have to worry about them that much anymore.
Here in my state kids still enjoy their summer vacation. But in most of the other states, they are already back in school. With mixed feelings. Some schools had to be closed again after only a few days because a teacher and a handful of kids (not all in one school or state but still) had been tested Corona positive. The next week will show if the new concept is working or not. The rules vary from state to state and critics are not happy with the situation at all, but we will see how things will work out. Yes, as I said before, Germany is far from being perfect when it comes to handling the crisis. But compared to some other countries in Europe or across the big pond, we can´t complain about that. The numbers speak for themselves.
And last but not least. I completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge.
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.
Happy reading

Congratulations! That is awesome news on the cancer front. So glad to hear that! And nice also that you got to see your father and stepmom. That is a long time to go without seeing them!
ReplyDeleteHope schools work out there. We're waiting to see how it goes here but as with many things in the US these days many of us are skeptical and worried. I'm glad numbers are low though in Germany. It's nice to know that at least some other places are doing better than us.
Take care this week and be well!
I hope that things will become better after November third ... Stay safe and well, Greg and thanks for commenting here.
DeleteCongrats on your results, I’m sure it’s a great relief!
ReplyDeleteI’m also glad you were able to spend time with family. It took quite a while for my parents to take it seriously, they are much better about being sensible now.
Wishing you a great reading week, be well
It was a huge relief! Ah yes, my parents *smile* I love them but sometimes *lol*
DeleteThat's an amazing news Vi!!!!!!! I am glad that you are cancer free! And yes school will repoen in a few weeks in Blegium too.
ReplyDeleteI am glad too *smile*
DeleteI'm glad you were able to get some family time and see the meteor showers. I worry about schools everywhere also. My daughter chose to do all online and we just stay home, get deliveries or I do an pickup once in awhile. I'm just doing the best I can and hope things will improve after this crazy year.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I hope that too. I am not sure if I can go on like this for another year or longer. Stay safe and well.
DeleteYay Congrats on beating the cancer scare. It is definitely scary not being able to meet the parents for a long time. I hope things get better soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope that too.
DeleteThat’s great news on the cancer front, fingers crossed your nutrition plan makes a difference for you.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are back to school, all seems ok so far, there has been new cases popping up in Scotland but thankfully our school has a good plan in place for keeping kids and students safe.
That’s great you managed to see family too, the phone just isn’t the same.
Have a good week.
No, it is not. You are right. I hope that we can hug each other again soon.
DeleteCongratulations on such good news! I'm also very happy you got to see some loved ones. It makes the good news even more sweet. I hope you have a great week!

It was at least a great feeling to see them in person. I hope I can give them a propper hug soon.
DeleteThat's wonderful news about the cancer! I'm happy for you! Also, seeing your parents after more than HALF A YEAR? My goodness! I bet that was so lovely. I couldn't even make it a month when the coronavirus first shut everything down here. Granted, I also just had a son so NOTHING will keep grandma from seeing her grandson lol The world could be on fire and she will come. I hope you have a good week :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was great to see them again although we had to keep that physical distance which was not easy to do. But better keep them safe and healthy than the other way around, right?
