With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #81

The past week was kind of uneventful. And somehow the same as almost every week since the Corona pandemic started. I watched the movie Book Club with Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen. Do you know it? I needed something that would make me laugh and it was on free TV and gave me a great time while watching. The entire movie is one hilarious long scene and though there is something serious in it too, you can take it with a broad smile on your face.

The wasps’ nest in the attic is still growing but I don´t care anymore. Sure, I check every day if the door to the attic is still locked and that no wasp is getting out but other than that? No.

The decision is made to stay at home and do day trips or weekend trips if possible. The prices at the North- and East Sea have risen by up to 80 percent for the night or an apartment, so it is kind of insane to book something there. Besides, they are booked out for weeks so I wouldn´t have a chance anyway. In the news, I heard and saw that some mountain trails are so crowded with people that it is no fun anymore to go for a hike. And when I look at my TBR with all the new release copies at my desk, I am anyway not in the mood to go on a big holiday trip.

We had very windy weather over the past week. Sunny and with blue skies but still very windy. It was kind of pleasant though. I could edit some more old posts but still have over twenty pages filled with posts to go. And some issues I had on my blog with the Instagram feed are fixed now too. It is working again but the way how it needed to be done has made me a bit thoughtful.

And I started reading a new book. But to be honest, I feel bad. When I see how many books others have read during the past four months and see how many I´ve read, I feel as if I am a huge failure.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

  1. I didn't enjoy watching Book Club either. I know we all have a huge TBR but I guess it is alright. Please do not feel bad about it. I hope you get to go on some hikes and trails where there are no crowd, given the Covid situtaion..

  3. I've been meaning to watch that movie, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. WASPS? Man I hate them! I swear, I take down a nest and 5 more appear over night. I don't know why they fixate on a place, but I would love for them to just leave me alone :)) Stay safe and happy reading!

    1. The ones we have in the attic are considered harmless and the expert told me they would be out of the nest by mid-August late-August. So we wait until then before we take it down. Live and let live, right?

  4. You are not a failure. Everyone deals with things differently. I slowed down a lot in March and April but have slowly picked back up. I am still finding listening easier as my mind doesn't drift as much. We are doing a staycation. With so many states a hot mess why take chances. Book Club sounds good, I will look for the movie. Hope this week is amazing!

  5. I didn't know about that movie, maybe I'll watch as I can use a laugh and of course, books. I read a lot but it's my escape. It's also something to pass the time while I am waiting to be able to do other things. Sometimes I have to wait because of the weather, or supplies being delivered or for information I need to do something. You shouldn't feel like a failure; we all just do what we can. What I feel badly about is how much time I waste reading about COVID or political news. It's like watching a disaster movie with a bad ending most days. We are just lucky we can stay home.

Have a wonderful week and stay well!

    1. True words. Watching the news is sometimes really bad and it is awful how much time we waste reading and hearing about the virus. I mean it is bad enough, sure, but I don´t need to know how many idiots were partying as if there is no virus out there. Have a wonderful week yourself and happy reading!

  6. The decision whether to take a vacation is a tough one right now! We're going camping but I'm a little leery of even doing that, and I'll definitely be limiting my contact with people and distancing as much as possible. PArt of the appeal of hiking for me is the nature seclusion, so yeah if the trails are crowded I'd be leery too! And good luck with the wasps. Glad to hear they're not an aggressive variety.

We do need laughter right now amidst all the gloom so glad you found something. I find myself appreciating laughter a lot more lately too! Be well this week. :)

    1. I hope you can enjoy your camping, Greg. I am not a camping fan, but nature is a great thing. No matter where you are or what you do when outside. So enjoy your trip and come back safe and sound.

  7. I’ve been updating old posts too. I have over 1000 posts on my blog, so it’s discouraging to update a few and see that I still have several hundred to go. Have a great week!

  9. I haven’t heard of Book Club but I shall seek it out, it sounds the perfect anecdote to these times. Have you watched Fire Saga about the Eurovision Song Contest, it’s wonderfully daft, a feel good film.

We were supposed to go to Florida in a couple of months but that has been put of till next year, I live in Scotland so there are plenty of lovely places to go on day trips here.

    Have a good week.

    1. I heard about the Fire Saga but only bad things. But I will check it out. Thank you. I had no big plans for the summer but it would have been nice to see something new *smile*

  10. I enjoyed Book Club though it wasn’t quite as good as I was perhaps hoping.
The reading habits of very few of us have been unaffected by the pandemic, I am a solid two weeks behind which I hate.

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. It is always a bad feeling when I am so behind with my new releases. But this time? Tops it all. Oh well ... It will pass and I will be back in the loop again. Hopefully soon.
