With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #109
I´ve got some free kindle books for my kindle app on my smartphone. Please check them before you one-click them because I don´t know if they are still for free.
Sunday Post #66
We had fantastic spring weather, although our nights were very chilly and still are. I tried to enjoy the bright sun as much as possible and went out for some walks. It is still totally surreal that places that are usually packed with people are now empty. Even the path along our small river where I go for my walks, is almost empty and if somebody is coming towards you, you can easily step away a few steps to keep the ordered distance of 2m (I guess 6ft?). I had to go to the supermarket and was both times very surprised to see the building filled with people and only a red sign at the front door which tells you to keep your distance from others. We are now asked, no matter if it is fresh fruits and veggies, stuff from the bakery or already packed goods like chocolate or cookies, to only touch the goods we want to buy and take with us. I was surprised to see the signs because I thought this is the normal way you do your grocery shopping. A least that´s how I do mine for ages now. Well, for others apparently not.
Besides all the madness going on in the world, I continued to clean my household, took care of my plants and was on the phone with my parents. I still have not read a single book but was able to do some blogging. And to my absolute delight, I found out how to upload covers to my blog. With Mozilla Firefox no chance but with Google Chrome it works *smile*
One TV channel called ZDF shows in its media center old shows and series from the eighties and nineties among all the new stuff. It is such fun to watch some of those oldies again and get your mind off of all the other stuff.
Stay safe and healthy!
Happy reading

There's a freebie explosion right now of things available. I have always preferred Google Chrome to any other browser. I'm glad you are getting some walks. We try not to go out even for groceries. I do have to go to the pharmacy tomorrow for a regular med. My daughter hasn't been out since March 16. We end spring break today and her classes start online. I hope for more of a routine. We will see.
ReplyDeleteStay healthy, safe and happy reading!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I stay at home as much as I can. The garden around the building where I live is a mess at the moment, so I can´t go there. At least I have a balcony I can use *sigh*
DeleteGlad you have had a quiet week - and yes... I know what you mean about how eerily quiet it is. Himself says Victoria Station is deserted in comparison to usual. Glad you have managed to find comfort viewing - we all need something as consolation:). Have another quiet, healthy week, Vi.
ReplyDeleteWe all need something that helps us cope with the current situation. I do hope that all the things we have to endure show the result the government is hoping for at some point in the (hopefully near) future.
DeleteI love watching old shows sometimes. :) It's nice as a way to relax. And I haven't been reading either. Just haven't been able to concentrate on it enough to do it. Hopefully I'll be able to get some reading in this week.
ReplyDeleteIt is so weird seeing everything deserted, isn't it? So surreal now.
Take care and stay well!
Oh yes, it is total surreal. I don´t know if I will ever get used to it.
DeleteAw I'm gutted I missed A Thousand Letters while it was free! I've had that one on my wishlist for a while. :(
ReplyDeleteThose signs about not touching produce unless you intend to buy are up in our supermarkets now too. Like you, I thought not pawing items you weren't going to buy was the normal but apparently not! :/
Oh, that´s sad. Maybe next time because I am sure that wasn´t the last time it was for free *smile*
DeleteI'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy the sunny weather. My son and I took a nice, long walk this afternoon and it felt so good after being stuck in the house so much because of this virus and the stay-at-home orders. I've been seeing a lot of free ebooks online the past few days, which is nice since I have more time than ever before to get reading done. I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the government allows us to go outside for a bit as long as we keep the required distance from others. The fresh air, sunlight and the movement help a lot. I am not sure if I will read all the ebooks over the next days and weeks but it feels good to know that I´ve got them *smile* Have a good week yourself!
