With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.
Stacking The Shelves #104
I found an old edition of Barbara Wood´s The Watch Gods in the gift box at my library, which I took with me of course. The publisher Heyne accepted my request for You don´t own Me and made me happy with the arrival of the book a few days ago.

Sunday Post #61
We are still dealing with the aftermath of the severe storm Sabine (in the UK called Ciara), two weeks ago. I found some broken roof tiles in our garden after the storm had hit us and it was no fun to have to tell the neighbors that they had a major hole in their roof. In Germany, the roof is covered with tiles made of clay and when they come down, they break into a million pieces and to get them out of the grass is no fun. On Thursday I discovered while looking after my washing machine, that the entire concrete floor of the laundry room was underwater. Another water pipe broke (the third within a year) and to be honest, I am so damn tired of all the broken stuff. Why has it always to be me who has to call our landlord and tell him the bad news?!
It seems that lately, every time I am back on solid ground and am feeling good, something bad happens and I could cry. Today I cried really. No happy tears, tears of rage and helplessness while trying to figure out what to do. My Sodastream broke and I am not sure if I can fix it (depends on the costs) or if I am better buying a new one. After almost six years in my household, the warranty has expired and to have to wait until tomorrow to call the service hotline (where nobody ever takes your call) isn´t making me happy either.
Can we please restart 2020? I am already done with it, feeling overwhelmed and am in total panic mode! Not good at all.
How was your week?
Happy reading

Ha Vi I am sorry to hear about all this! But I can understand your despair and yoru rage because when you are always the one people turn to to fix things, you just want to stop for some time and for them to find someone else!
ReplyDeleteThat is why I went out of the house for the weekend and thought that someone else should take care of the situation. And apparently someone did, because the plumber had been able to fix everything without getting wet feet.
DeleteMy past week was also crappy, here’s hoping this week is better for us both!
ReplyDeleteI hope that too! This week is better *smile*
DeleteOh no! I hate it when things go wrong - and in the winter, it always takes so long for everything to dry out:(. So sorry to hear of your spell of broken things - I hope the coming week is a LOT better!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope it too, that the week will be a lot better!
DeleteHang in there. I know it feels like when it rains it pours. I sometimes escape by reading or just working harder on things I want to do. I hope you get good news and have a much better week!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Oh I hope so! Thank you for your kind words. Very appreciated.
DeleteOh wow sorry to hear about the flooding! And the roof tiles as well. I hear you though- sometimes things just go wrong and it's just ridiculous. I hope this is a better week- hang in there.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Everything is fixed now and I really hope that was the last bad thing for the year.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear that your 2020 isn't off to a great start. I really hope things get better for you soon.
