is a weekly event originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. For whatever reason Jill is not blogging since August 2016 but her meme is still going on. Hope everything is ok and she will be back soon! Until then, I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.
While writing this post I read the blurb to the book for the first time with real intent and got hooked.
Over at Twitter I saw the cover from time to time and was pretty fascinated. I love the motive, the colors and now, that I´ve seen the cover in a bigger format, I´ve noticed all the tiny details I didn´t see before. That cover seems to be a piece of art.
I know that some of my fellow bloggers are awaiting this book too. Seems that this debut novel will have some readers already when it comes out. But that´s not the only reason why I want it. As I mentioned a bit above, while writing my pick for this week I read the summary in a different way. Before that I was only seeing the cover and since I am a cover girl that was enough for me. At that time. Now I think this novel promises a wonderful mix of adventure, thrill, and tension that will be packed in a time and land we don´t know yet.
Yes, my curiosity is awakened and I hope, really hope, that this YA novel will fulfill everything it promises its readers.

Goodreads
In the kingdom of Sempera, time is currency – extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one´s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries. No one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings´ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever. But going back to Everless brings more danger – and temptation-than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she´s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she´d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate – and the fate of time itself.

DeleteThis book is all over the place. I have heard a lot of great things too. I don't read a ton of fantasy, but the concept of time as currency, with the aristocracy taxing the lower classes in order to extend their lives, while shortening the lives of those with less wealth is quite and intriguing concept. I bet there is a lot of social commentary in there as well. Hope you read it and love it.
