is a weekly event hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. I first discovered this book when I was searching through the preview section of a German publisher. In the catalog it was the first cover right on top of the first page – and it caught my attention the very same second. I thought that looks really good! A lot of Gold, a bit black, and an open book with a ship on top - promising.
Within minutes I was in the reservation section of the German literature portals forum where I also publish reviews, and damn! it was already taken. On that website, only one reviewer can write a review over one book. And therefore, only one reviewer can ask the publisher for a reviewer´s copy of a book. So I went straight to GR, looked for its original title, saw that the cover looked even more stunning (at least in my eyes, but judge for yourself) and then to a huge seller and pre-ordered it right away. Now I can read it months before its actual release date here in Germany *yay*

Sefia knows what it means to survive. After her father is brutally murdered, she flees into the wilderness with her aunt Nin, who teaches her to hunt, track, and steal. But when Nin is kidnapped, leaving Sefia completely alone, none of her survival skills can help her discover where Nin´s been taken of if she´s even alive. The only clue to both her aunt´s disappearance and her father´s murder is the odd rectangular object her father left behind, an object she comes to realize is a book – a marvelous item unheard of in her otherwise illiterate society. With the help of this book, and the aid of a mysterious stranger with dark secrets of his own, Sefia sets out to rescue her aunt and find out what really happened the day her father was killed – and punish the people responsible.

I have an ARC to read and agree it sounds awesome. I think I like the German cover better though. The US one is so busy.
