is a weekly event hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. Some weeks ago I received a friend´s request at my personal Facebook account from an author I hadn´t heard or “known” until then. Well, I know her now as much as you can know a person when it comes to that social media thing and see more or less wonderful stuff that gets posted.
Because of her I was invited to a Book Launch Party from another author, had a great night during that party at FB, won a few times (which I never expected because usually, I don´t win things no matter how many giveaways I am attending) and saw the new cover for her second book that will be published in December this year. But I will write about that in my next WoW.
Today´s WoW is all about the first book of Abbie Roads Fatal Dreams Trilogy and looks a bit different from the ones I usually post. To be clear: I am not getting paid for this in what way ever. This time I want to share my passion and excitement in a bit different way than usual because I feel like doing it the way I do. Don´t know why that is, but normally I am not that much of a fan when it comes to the paranormal and dark romance genre. But this cover and the blurb kind of got to me.
But back to the beginning of my new Facebook-friendship story with Abbie Roads.
Only a few days later I saw that she was sending her first ARC to a reviewer and wrote that I wanted one too. I never thought of things to happen the way they did afterward because only hours later I got a private message from her in which she offered me what her editor had told her about getting an ARC. Well, to cut a long story short I ended up placing a pre-order for her first book and thought I pick that one for this week WoW as per anticipation is the most pleasant one, right?
(And to be honest, after the cover reveal of the second Fatal Dreams book a few days ago I already pre-ordered that one, too – crazy, isn´t it?)

Cursed with a terrible gift …Criminal investigator Xander Stone doesn´t have to question you – he can hear your thoughts. Scarred by lightning, burdened with a power that gives him no peace, Xander struggles to maintain his sanity against the voice that haunts him day and night – the voice of a woman begging him to save her. A gift that threatens to engulf them … Isleen Walker has long since given up hope of escape from the nightmare of captivity and torture that is draining her life, her mind and her soul. Except … there is the man in her feverish dreams, the strangely beautiful man who beckons her to freedom and wholeness. And when he comes, if he comes, it will take all their combined fury and faith to overcome a madman bent on fulfilling a deadly prophecy.
Abbie Roads is a 2014 Golden Heart Finalist with her romantic suspense novel Dangerous Dreams. Her writing is darkly emotional, but she always gives her damaged characters a happy ending. During the day, she’s a mental health counselor known for her blunt honest style of therapy and her shoes. She believes that many of life’s problems can be solved with a kick-ass pair of heels and a chocolate martini—or three. If that doesn’t work—seek professional help.
And what are you waiting for? Let me know your thoughts about this one or leave me the link to your WoW and I check it out.
Happy reading & waiting on

Sounds intriguing, and what a burden to have to hear the thoughts of others. I wouldn't want that as my super power. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGuess it could sometimes be very interesting to hear what others think, but in the long run I wouldn´t want that skill either :-). Thanks for stopping by.
