Over the past week, I had a few great opportunities to get some books really low priced, and so I can add now those to my private library too. Yes, you´ve read that correctly. Everything that goes beyond 1000 books is, as far as I know, in Germany called the library. And since I am way past that number, I guess I have my own library here at home.
I couldn´t say what urged me to show this stranger I was more than the pitiful girl staring back at him. I was. At least as far as he should believe. I pulled my spine erect, elongated my neck, and met his stare with every ember of fire burning within me. Dare to think of me what you will, I hoped the look I gave him said. I am Sonya Petrova. And I am not broken.
Delusion in Death by J.D. Robb
“Nothing here.” Morris moved to the comp, brought up the completed analyses. “Not on these three or any DBs I´ve gotten reports on. We´ll run more tests, but at this point, it appears the substance left no permanent damage other than violent death.”“That´s pretty … permanent.” Eve stuck her hands in her pockets, scanned the bodies again. “I need everything and anything you get as soon as you get it.”“You think this is the first, but not the last?”“Unless this was some twisted form of self-termination and whoever did it is on one of your slabs, yeah. It worked so well, why stop now?”“Then we´ll hope he´s here. Otherwise, anyone, anywhere, anytime.”Murder could happen, she thought as she drove to Cop Central, to anyone, anywhere, anytime. She´d seen the worst of what people did to people over love, money, for power, for revenge. Or just because. But mass murder painted a darker canvas, and using victims as weapons made for a particularly twisted mind.

Firstlife by Gena Showalter
Tenley “Ten” Lockwood is an average seventeen-year-old girl… who has spent the past thirteen months locked inside the Prynne Asylum. The reason? Not her obsession with numbers, but her refusal to let her parents choose where she´ll live – after she dies. There is an eternal truth most of the world has come to accept: Firstlife is merely a dress rehearsal, and real life begins after death. In the Everlife, two realms are in power: Troika and Myriad, longtime enemies and deadly rivals. Both will do anything to recruit Ten, including sending their top Laborers to lure her to their side. Soon, Ten finds herself on the run, caught in a wild tug-of-war between the two realms who will do anything to win the right to her soul. Who can she trust? And what if the realm she´s drawn to isn´t where the boy she´s falling for lives? She just has to stay alive long enough to make a decision …

Enchanted August by Brenda Bowen
Hopewell Cottage. Little Lost Island Maine. Old, pretty cottage to rent on a small island. Springwater, blueberries, sea glass. August. So reads an ad on Lottie Wilkes´ and Rose Arbuthnot´s children´s preschool bulletin board. When the mothers arrive on the island, they are transformed by the salt air; the breathtaking views; the long, lazy days; and the happy routine of lobster, corn, and cocktails on the wraparound porch. By the time of the late-August blue moon, real life and its complications have finally fallen far, far away. For on this idyllic island they gradually begin to open up: to one another and to the possibilities of lives quite different from the ones they´ve been leading. Change can´t be that hard, can it.
